March 1, 2008 I was discussing Internet dating with a date of mine and we mentioned how we both had experiences where the person was dramatically different in person than their picture. It was funny as we discussed it but it wasn't funny when you first found the difference? Remember that shocking moment? Weren't you tempted to say, "what were you thinking?" That's my main question. Who does these people think they're fooling? Do they not realize that eventually we're going to meet them and realize there's a huge difference between the two? I'm not talking about people with a different hairstyle or that now wears glasses or something like that. I'm talking about pictures from years ago. Usually it's a weight difference, but not always. With the people that have done this with me, I've been happy with the appearance of the person whom I've met, even though it wasn't as promised in the photo. What's wrong is that they've revealed something pretty negative about themselves by pulling a bait and switch. If they were a used car dealer, they'd be fined heavily. What you're saying to me is that you're incredibly insecure and have no faith or confidence in yourself. That's a bigger turnoff then the fact that your hair is now gray and you wear bifocals.
