The New Bitch Factor

When did it become acceptable to brag about being a bitch? Even more importantly, what type of person would feel it's acceptable to brag about being nasty and self-centered? I'm sure you've seen those t-shirts and bumper stickers that say "I haven't been the same since the house fell on my sister" and "well-behaved women don't make history." As if anyone wearing that shirt has done anything significant to improve the lot of humanity or feminism. What they're really saying is "I'm a pretty horrible person who doesn't treat people well and I don't care to change because no one but me is worth caring about."

I don't want to hear that ridiculous excuse that "if a man is aggressive they call him successful but if a woman is aggressive they call her a bitch." What a load of crap. A man who behaves as a male bitch (mitch?) is called a dick by most people, not successful or aggressive. The only people who admire a guy who acts like that are women. Most men aren't like that and we don't admire that self-centered aggressiveness or nastiness. Why, in their quest to be strong, would some women emulate the worst characteristics of the worst men? And why then brag about it?
